Bayer Leverkusen have recently been linked with a swoop for Real Madrid starlet Martin Ødegaard who spent last season on loan at Dutch side Vitesse.

Now, Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes admits that the 20-year-old has indeed attracted interest from the Bundesliga club.

"He's an interesting player for us," Rolfes told Bild.

It's doubtful if Real Madrid want to sell the 20-year-old for whom they have previously rejected a €20 million offer from Ajax, according to reports.

However, it doesn't seem out of the question that the Norwegian international could be sent out on loan again.

Ødegaard, who's under contract with Real Madrid until 2021, scored 11 goals and made 12 assists in 39 appearances for Vitesse in the 2018/19 season.
