When asked if he has received any concrete offers so far, the 28-year-old told Sky:
"There were conversations from time to time. But nothing that was so concrete that we were able to deal with it seriously. The most important thing in this situation is patience - I have learned that."
"There's not much going on in the transfer market yet - I'll carefully consider everything that comes. I'm not ready to travel all over the world. That's why I'm waiting for the right offer. And that will come - I'm convinced of that," Schürrle said.
Initially, Schürrle was expecting to go back to Dortmund after spending last season on loan at Fulham, but the winger says he was informed the club didn't want him to return. At the moment, he's keeping fit with a personal coach.
"I was actually sitting with my packed suitcases on my way to Dortmund. Then came the call with the hint that Dortmund didn't actually want that, because there are already a lot of players there," Schürrle said and added:
"This certainly has nothing to do with a lack of the respect - that's how the business works. You have to try to understand all sides. [Dortmund coach] Lucien Favre wants to train with the squad in his plans for the coming season. And BVB just don't want chaos to develop. But it's also clear that I need team training."
Dortmund paid €30 million to sign Schürrle from VfL Wolfsburg in 2016. Now, they're reportedly prepared to listen to offers starting at €8 million for the 28-year-old.
