Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre says he hopes Raphael Guerreiro will be staying at the club this summer.
Guerreiro, who's going into the final year of his contract, has been linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park this summer, but speaking after Saturday's 2-0 win over Bayern München in the Super Cup final, Favre underlined that he is eager to hold on to the 25-year-old.
"Raphael Guerreiro played very well today. At the end of the game, he was a bit tired because he had to defend a lot. He ran a lot. He instigated the second goal, cleverly winning the ball and sending it to Sancho with an outside-of-the-boot pass. It was an important counter-attack. He is a very good, intelligent player. We hope that he stays — but he'll stay," Favre said at a press conference after the game, according to The Yellow Wall.
Guerreiro made 32 appearances for Dortmund last season with six goals and six assists to his name.
