Report: Atalanta and Schalke battle for Philipp Max

Philipp Max is being linked with Atalanta and Schalke 04.
Atalanta and Schalke 04 are competing to sign Philipp Max, who wants to leave Augsburg this summer, according to Kicker.

Max has been priced at €20 million by Augsburg who are reportedly growing increasingly open to sending the left-back out on loan as no club have been wanting to match their price tag yet.

Kicker claims that Atalanta are 'working intensely' on bringing Max to Italy while Schalke are considering stepping up their interest in the 25-year-old whose contract with Augsburg runs until 2022.

Last season, Max made 34 appearances for Augsburg with four goals and seven assists to his name.
