Alaba expects Bayern to sign 'one or two more players'

David Alaba has urged Bayern München to make further signings.
Bayern München star David Alaba says he expects the club to make at least one more signing before the transfer window closes.

Following the arrivals of Lucas Hernandez, Benjamin Pavard, Jann-Fiete Arp and Ivan Perisic, Alaba says he would like to see the Bavarians sign 'one or two more players'.

"It's a long season, and with the pressure we're under, we don't only need a high-quality squad, but a big one as well. I think that one or two more players should come in order to increase competition for places and improve our depth," he told APA.

When asked about his future, Alaba says he's currently fully focused on Bayern, but the Austrian international doesn't want to promise that he will stay at Allianz Arena beyond next summer.

"My focus in entirely on FC Bayern. I don't know what will happen next year, but I've always stressed that I'm a player who's looking for new challenges. I can't say whether that will be at FC Bayern or elsewhere," Alaba said.

Alaba, 27, is under contract with Bayern until 2021.
