Apparently, SC Freiburg's Luca Waldschmidt has a buyout clause in his contract.
SC Freiburg star Luca Waldschmidt will be available for €23 million next summer because of a release clause in his contract, Sport Bild claims.
The 23-year-old, who was recently called up to the German national team for the first time, was reportedly subject to interest from other clubs, including Borussia Mönchengladbach, after he ended as top-scorer at the European Under-21 Championship in the summer.
Waldschmidt wasn't interested in leaving Freiburg this summer, though, because he wanted to continue his development at Schwarzwald-Stadion, playing regular football. But Sport Bild believes the striker is likely to join a club that plays European football in 2020.
Waldschmidt, whose contract runs until 2022, scored nine goals in 32 appearances for Freiburg during the 2018/19 campaign. After playing four games this season, he has already netted three times.
