Julian Brandt insists the German national team are on the right road in spite of Friday's 2-4 loss to the Netherlands in their qualification campaign for the European Championship in 2020.
"I have great faith in this team, both when it comes to qualifying for the European Championship and in a general sense," Julian Brandt said in an interview with Kicker and added:
"The Netherlands showed us that we still have to improve. But we were already aware of that."
Germany have begun a rebuilding process following their disappointing group-stage exit at the World Cup in 2018, and Brandt feels confident things are moving in the right direction.
"Perhaps Germany needed the experience from the World Cup. Good things often come out of defeats. German football has experienced that before," the Dortmund midfielder said.
"We have a completely different group dynamic now. And I think it can be felt from the outside that we're all having a lot of fun," he explained.
In their next Euro 2020 qualifier, Brandt and Germany lock horns with Northern Ireland tonight.
