Timo Werner: I'm not a world-class player like Lewandowski yet
RB Leipzig's Timo Werner doesn't see himself as a world-class player.
RB Leipzig's Timo Werner admits he still has some way to go before he can be considered a world-class footballer like Bayern München's Robert Lewandowski.
"I'm not a world-class player yet. Even with players like Lewandowski, this is discussed in public to some extent, but he's definitely world class to me. And I'm working on getting to this level at some point," Werner told Sport Bild and added:
"There are some things I can learn from Lewandowski. He's a super striker. He's not only strong when the ball is in play, but also at set pieces. His confident way of taking penalties is often not noticed at all. In addition, he also has the ability to take free-kicks, just like Paco Alcacer."
Robert Lewandowski tops the Bundesliga's goalscoring charts this season with six goals. Werner has five goals to his name so far while Borussia Dortmund's Paco Alcacer has netted four times.
