Hertha BSC's Niklas Stark attracted interest from Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach over the summer, according to Sport Bild.
Ajax were particularly interested in signing the centre-back, but neither of the clubs were willing to pay his release clause of €25 million, which expired at the end of June, as per the report.
When asked about the reported interest in him, Stark said:
"My job is to give everything here. If I talked about other clubs, I wouldn't be respecting Hertha enough."
"Of course, you always strive for the next step. That could be with Hertha or perhaps somewhere else someday. You never know that exactly in football.
"When my career is over one day, I don't want to be thinking, 'oh, if only I had...'. But right now, it's all about playing for Hertha," Stark told Sport Bild.
Stark, 24, joined Hertha from FC Nürnberg in 2015. His contract runs until 2022.
