Could Dortmund really sign Kai Havertz next summer?

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly ready to take part in the race for Kai Havertz's signature.
Borussia Dortmund are seriously looking into the possibility of bringing Kai Havertz to Signal Iduna Park from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2020, according to Kicker.

BVB captain Marco Reus recently said that he 'will do everything' to get Havertz to Dortmund.

Although he was subsequently told to focus on the current season by club boss Michael Zorc, the club's interest in the 20-year-old is genuine, as per the report.

Bayer Leverkusen's asking price of around €100 million for Havertz looks like a stumbling block unless Dortmund sell Jadon Sancho and reinvest (some of) the money in Havertz.

First of all, however, Dortmund would have to fight off competition from Bayern München and top clubs from England, Spain and Italy, and they're highly unlikely to do so, according to Sport Bild journalist Tobias Altschäffl, who sees Bayern München as the only possible option for Havertz in the Bundesliga.

Havertz's contract with Leverkusen runs until 2022.
