Amine Harit had a difficult 2018/19 season - not just on the pitch, but off is as well - but has returned to form following David Wagner's arrival as Schalke 04 coach.

Most recently, the 22-year-old was one of Schalke's stand-out performers in their 5-1 win over Paderborn on Sunday, racking up two goals, and he is happy to pay back Wagner's faith in him.

"I feel that the coach has confidence in me, and I'm pleased that I can repay his faith on the pitch," Harit told reporters after the game.

In June 2018, Harit was involved in a fatal car crash in Morocco that led to the tragic death of a 30-year-old-man.

The Moroccan international naturally found it extremely difficult to deal with what happened and has since described the accident as the worst moment of his life.

"The past year wasn't easy for me. But my mind is clear again, and I just want to work hard," he said after Schalke's win on Sunday.

Harit has made five appearances for Schalke this season with two goals and two assists to his name.
