Uli Hoeness says Bayern could reignite their interest in Leroy Sané

Bayern München could still be looking into signing Leroy Sané in the future, says club president Uli Hoeness.
Bayern München were very clear about their interest in Leroy Sané during the summer, but cooled their interest in the Manchester City winger when he was ruled out for around six months after suffering anterior cruciate ligament damage at the start of August.

Bayern are now monitoring Sané's recovery and could potentially reignite their interest in the German international in 2020, club president Uli Hoeness tells Sports Illustrated's 'Planet Football' podcast.

"We were very much interested. We had discussions with him, but we couldn't go on with our interest due to his awful injury. We have to wait and see how his recovery goes. I think the new people at the club will have to sit down in January or February and decide how to proceed," said Hoeness, who will step down as Bayern president in November.

Sané's contract with Manchester City runs until 2021.
