David Wagner was left to rue missed chances as Schalke 04 had to settle for a 1-1 draw against FC Köln on Saturday.
Schalke 04 coach David Wagner thought Saturday's 1-1 draw with FC Köln was a fair result, but also felt his team could have taken the win if they had been a little more clinical in front of goal.
Suat Serdar gave Schalke the lead after 72 minutes, but 'The Royal Blues' were forced to settle for a draw after Jonas Hector equalised in injury time.
"It's obviously disappointing to concede an equaliser in injury time. I can forget about disappointment as quickly as I can move on from euphoria. I think a draw was a fair result though," David Wagner said after the game, as quoted by the club.
"We weren't good enough in the first 45 and didn’t have enough possession. The second half was a lot better though. We should have been more clinical though. We had chances to seal the win late on, but were too sloppy in front of goal," he added.
Wagner's troops are fourth in the Bundesliga ahead of Sunday's Bundesliga fixtures.
