Alfred Schreuder: 'Our team made history'

Alfred Schreuder was delighted to guide Hoffenheim into their first ever win at Allianz Arena.
Hoffenheim took their first ever win at Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday as they surprisingly beat Bayern München 2-1.

Speaking after the game, Hoffenheim coach Alfred Schreuder said he was extremely proud of his players and the performance.

"I'm obviously very proud of our performance. Our team made history. Hoffenheim have never won a match in Munich before. We tried to press FC Bayern very high up the pitch but that didn't work. Bayern have huge quality," Schreuder said after the game, as quoted by the club.

"The lads showed where we're trying to get to. We saw a lot of heart from the lads. You always have to try to win the game. They showed that desire today too. I'm very happy to be the coach of this team."

Saturday's 2-1 win took Hoffenheim to 11th place ahead of Sunday's Bundesliga fixtures.
