Julian Brandt has admitted that his current situation at Borussia Dortmund is 'difficult'.

After sitting on the bench for a few games, Brandt was in the line-up for Dortmund's 2-0 win over Slavia Prague in the Champions League, but he found himself among the substitutes once again for BVB's clash with Freiburg on Saturday.

"It's difficult, that's clear. You sit on the bench a lot and only come on for short periods of time. Then you'll play 90 minutes only to maybe find yourself on the bench again," Brandt said in the wake of Dortmund's 2-2 draw with Freiburg.

"The coach has his reasons for lining up the way he does. I didn't want to talk to him about it. I'm not above the team, so it was all right," he said.

Brandt joined Dortmund from Leverkusen in the summer.
