Müller unlikely to leave Bayern in January – but a summer move could be on the cards

Thomas Müller will probably stay at Bayern München until next summer at least.
Thomas Müller has been reported to be considering a move away from Bayern München in January as he's unhappy with his substitute role at Allianz Arena.

"If the coaching team see me as a substitute in the future, I have to think about my situation. I'm just too ambitious for that," Müller recently told Kicker.

However, Bayern München are very unlikely to let Müller leave in the winter, according to Bild.

The versatile 30-year-old is seen as an important backup player, and selling him in January would leave the squad too thin.

Instead, Bayern could let Müller go in the summer when players such as Kai Havertz and Leroy Sané could potentially come in to increase competition for places further at Allianz Arena.

Müller's contract with Bayern runs until 2021.
