Report: Liverpool make contact over Gladbach's Denis Zakaria

Liverpool have reportedly inquired about Gladbach's Denis Zakaria who is also being linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern München.
Liverpool have made contact with Denis Zakaria's representatives about a potential move to England, according to Sky.

Zakaria, who is understood to have attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Bayern München as well, has a price tag of around €50 million.

According to reports, Dortmund were eager to bring the 22-year-old to Signal Iduna Park in the summer, but couldn't persuade Gladbach into selling him.

Gladbach boss Max Eberl said earlier this month that the club would like to hold on to Zakaria, but that the 22-year-old could leave if the right offer comes.

"We are super satisfied with Denis' development and see him as part of our long-term planning. But Gladbach is and will remain a club that depends on transfer fees. If we receive an immoral offer, we will deal with it, of course," he told Bild.

The defensive midfielder, who has played every minute for Gladbach so far this season, is under contract until 2022.
