Denis Zakaria has reportedly caught the eye of top clubs such as Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal and Bayern München with his performances for Borussia Mönchengladbach.

And while Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl hints that the club will probably not be able to hold on to Zakaria forever, he underlines that the 22-year-old will definitely be staying until the end of the season at least.

"First of all, we have everything in our hands, because he doesn't have a buyout clause. I can definitely rule out a transfer in the winter," Eberl told Sportbuzzer and added:

"But we have always noticed that - especially when we're successful - our players attract a lot of attention. We now have an extremely exciting young squad again.

"Transfer revenues have helped us to renew and improve the squad again. We will always have to give up quality and buy potential. We have no alternative but to follow that path," Eberl said.

Gladbach paid €12 million to sign Zakaria from Young Boys in 2017. His contract runs until 2022.
