Bayern chief: We don't have to pay €100 million for a player if we're clever enough

Uli Hoeness says Bayern München could avoid paying €100 million for a player if they're 'clever enough'.
Bayern München could potentially break the €100-million mark for a single player in the summer of 2020, but might not have to, says club president Uli Hoeness.

"It would be possible to pay such a fee. But I don't think it will happen if we're clever enough," Hoeness told Bayern's club magazine, '51'.

The Bavarians smashed their transfer record when they paid €80 million to sign Lucas Hernandez from Atlético Madrid in the summer.

Bayern have been linked with the likes of Manchester City's Leroy Sané and Kai Havertz who could cost more than €100 million each.
