Niko Kovac set to remain Bayern coach for now?

Bayern München will hold on to Niko Kovac for now, according to reports.
Niko Kovac will keep his job as Bayern München coach until further notice, according to Sport Bild and TZ.

The pressure is increasing on Kovac after Bayern's embarassing 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

But the 48-year-old will remain in charge for Wednesday's Champions League game against Olympiacos and Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Borussia Dortmund, as per corresponding reports from the two German media outlets.

When asked about his future after Saturday's loss, Kovac told reporters:

"It's not important how I feel. You should ask those who make the decisions.

"I know how the business works. I'm not naive. I didn't give up last year, and I won't give up now either," he underlined.

Kovac was appointed Bayern coach in the summer of 2018. He won the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal in his first season at the club.
