Schalke 04 will have to manage without Salif Sané for the rest of the year due to injury, the club have announced.
The 29-year-old has gone through surgery on a knee injury after he was forced off during Schalke's 3-2 win over Augsburg on Saturday.
Sané will now be out for three to four months, depending on how quickly he recovers from the injury.
The Senegalese centre-back has made 11 appearances for Schalke this season, scoring two goals.
