Flick confirms that Lewandowski needs surgery 'at some point'

Bayern München interim coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Robert Lewandowski needs surgery on a groin problem.
Bayern München caretaker coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Robert Lewandowski is planning to undergo surgery for a minor groin problem, just as reported on Monday.

According to Flick, Lewandowski isn't having any pain, but will still have to go under the knife 'at some point'. It's up to the striker when the surgery will take place.

"Robert has problems, but no pain. He will need to do something about it at some point," Flick told reporters at a press conference and added:

"He will have to consider it thoroughly, because it wouldn't be good to interrupt his current run. We have to make sure that he misses as few games as possible. But it's his decision, and we have to respect that."

Lewandowski has scored 20 goals in 16 appearances for Bayern this season.
