Wolfsburg coach Oliver Glasner feels his side are missing a 'cutting edge' at the moment.
'Die Wölfe', who are without a win in their last seven games, suffered their fourth straight defeat as they were beaten 0-2 by Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, much to the disappointment of Glasner.
"We're obviously disappointed again. We're struggling to score goals at the moment. You can tell we're missing that cutting edge, but I saw my players putting in a great deal of effort. We fell behind early on to a goal that shouldn’t have counted, in my opinion, but we didn't let our heads drop this time," Glasner said after the game, as quoted by the club, and added:
"We kept believing we could find an equaliser until stoppage time [when Paulinho scored Leverkusen’s second]. In that sense, I saw a clear improvement today. I'm obviously disappointed that we lost, but I'm impressed with the team's performance so soon after a tough game against Gent. The performance I saw today fills me with confidence for our final few games of the calendar year."
Glasner's troops sit tenth in the Bundesliga table with 17 points from 11 games.
