Ömer Toprak ruled out for the rest of 2019

Ömer Toprak will be sidelined for the rest of 2019 due to injury.
Werder Bremen will be without Ömer Toprak for the rest of the year, the club have announced.

The experienced centre-back suffered a calf injury in the warm-up for Werder's clash with Gladbach on Sunday.

"It's extremely unfortunate and bitter that we will be without Ömer for such a long time. We will do everything we can to get him fit again, but unfortunately we will have to manage without him for the rest of the year," Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt said in an interview on the club's website.

Toprak, who has already missed a number of games this season due to injury, has played five games for Werder after his summer move from Borussia Dortmund.
