Michael Gregoritsch announces desire to leave Augsburg in January

Michael Gregoritsch is not happy at Augsburg and wants to leave in the winter.
Michael Gregoritsch has made it clear that he wants to leave Augsburg when the transfer window opens in January.

The 25-year-old has been one of the club's stand-out performers for years, but has slipped down the pecking order this season.

"It's clear to me that I want to leave Augsburg in the winter so that I can play regularly and make myself attractive for the national team," Gregoritsch said in an interview with Krone.

Gregoritsch came close to a move to Werder Bremen in the summer, but ultimately had to stay at WWK Arena because the two clubs could't agree on a transfer fee.

"It's an open secret that I could have left and that there was an offer on the table. In the summer, the opportunity was there for me and the club. It was a win-win situation," Gregoritsch said.

Gregoritsch has started just four Bundesliga games this season.
