Report: Bayern and Leverkusen set to open talks over Havertz deal

Bayern München are set to step up their efforts to bring Kai Havertz to Allianz Arena.
Bayern München are set to open talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a potential deal for Kai Havertz, according to Sport1.

The two sides are planning to sit down together in the 'coming weeks' to talk about the 20-year-old who is understood to be top of Bayern's wishlist.

Bayern will probably have to decide between Barcelona loanee Philippe Coutinho, who has a release clause of €120 million, and Havertz.

Havertz, who should cost around €100 million, has attracted attention from all the top clubs in Europe, so the Bavarians will definitely face hefty competition for his signature, though.

Another possible alternative is Tottenham's Christian Eriksen, whom Bayern have already inquired about, as per Sport1.
