Christian Streich reveals that Luca Waldschmidt will miss the rest of 2019
Luca Waldschmidt will be out of action for the rest of 2019, Freiburg coach Christian Streich has revealed.
Freiburg coach Christian Streich expects Luca Waldschmidt to be sidelined for the rest of 2019.
The striker was involved in a painful collision with Belarus keeper Alyaksandr Hutar in Germany's 4-0 win last week, suffering injuries to his face, knee and ankle.
"We will all be very happy if he's able to return to the training ground in January," Streich said at a press conference today.
Streich also revealed that Alexander Schwolow has suffered a setback in his recovery from injury.
"He's been having some problems, so he will have to step back a little. He's on his way, but I can't give a prognosis," Streich said.
Freiburg face Leverkusen away from home in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
