Schalke 04 coach David Wagner is confident that Mauricio Pochettino would be able to do well in the Bundesliga.

Pochettino was recently relieved of his duties as Tottenham manager and has since been linked with Bayern München who are still looking for a long-term coach after the dismissal of Niko Kovac.

And Wagner - a former Huddersfield Town coach who knows Pochettino from his time in England - is "100 percent" sure that the Argentine coach would fit into the Bundesliga.

"He did outstandingly well at Tottenham. If he comes to the Bundesliga, we would have one of the world's absolute top coaches here again, just like we had when [Pep] Guardiola and [Jürgen] Klopp were here," David Wagner said at a press conference today.

Pochettino was appointed Tottenham coach in May 2014. Last season, he guided the London club to the Champions League final where they were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool.
