Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre's job is hanging by a thread following Dortmund's underwhelming 3-3 draw with Paderborn on Friday.

According to a report from Bild, the BVB bosses held a long meeting after Friday's game, and they ultimately decided that Favre will be given one last chance to prove himself when Dortmund face Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Should BVB put in another unacceptable performance on Wednesday, Favre's tenure at Signal Iduna Park will most likely be brought to an end.

Speaking after Friday's game that saw Dortmund come back after being 0-3 down at the break, Favre told reporters:

"We will analyse this together. That is very, very necessary. It can't go on like this. We played a disastrous first half. The only positive thing was that we came back after being down 0-3,"

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc said:

"I don't want to say much directly after the game except that the first half was completely unacceptable and that we have to apologize to the spectators. Tomorrow is another day."

Favre was appointed Dortmund coach in July 2018.
