Florian Neuhaus: 'We have the quality to beat Bayern'

Florian Neuhaus oozes confidence ahead of Gladbach's clash with Bayern München on Saturday.
Florian Neuhaus believes Borussia Mönchengladbach are capable of beating Bayern München when the two teams lock horns at Borussia-Park on Saturday.

Neuhaus and Gladbach are top of the league with 28 points - one point clear of their nearest rivals, RB Leipzig - and the 22-year-old is determined to hold on to the top spot with a victory over the fourth-placed German champions.

"That will be a highlight that we want to take on successfully. We have the quality to beat Bayern in top form. That's how confident we are," the midfielder told Sport Bild.

Asked if Gladbach could win the Bundesliga this season, Neuhaus responded:

"It's way too early to talk about that. At the moment, it's simply a matter of continuing our run. Then we'll see where the journey is going. We have to find more consistency and can't afford slip-ups like against Union Berlin."

Gladbach bounced back from their disappointing 2-0 loss to Union on Matchday 12 with a 4-2 win over Freiburg on Sunday.
