Goretzka doesn't see Germany as favorites in their Euro 2020 group

Leon Goretzka believes France and Portugal will offer Germany tough competition at Euro 2020.
Leon Goretzka doesn't see Germany as favorites in their group at next year's European Championship.

'Die Mannschaft' were drawn into Group F with reigning world champions France and European champions Portugal. The winner of Play-off Path A - either Iceland, Romania, Bulgaria or Hungary - will take the last spot in the group.

"I find it difficult to understand how we can end up in the same group as the world champions and the European champions after winning our qualification group," Goretzka said in an interview with t-online.de and continued:

"I don't see us as the favorites in the group, just like we would normally be at a European Championship. Nevertheless, we always want to go through. I don't see any problems, only big challenges. We will try to spark euphoria in the country with the fans behind our backs and carry on."

Goretzka has made 25 appearances for Germany, scoring 11 goals.
