Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre knows what kind of striker he's interested in as the club look to bring in a new forward in January if possible.
"We need a big striker, who's good in the air, but who's also good at pressing the ball and in combination play. He should be able to run in behind to score goals as well," Favre told reporters at a press conference today.
When asked about BVB's reported interest in RB Salzburg's Erling Braut Haaland, Favre said:
"We're probably interested in a lot of players, but I don't want to say anything about that right now. Doing transfers in January is generally difficult. We'll see."
Favre also revealed that Paco Alcacer, Dortmund's only natural striker at the moment, is back in training after recovering from the knee injury that kept him out of Saturday's 2-1 win over Hertha BSC.
Julian Weigl and Manuel Akanji has returned to training as well, but Favre has to manage without Manuel Schmelzer who suffered a muscle strain on Saturday.
In their next game, Favre's troops take on Fortuna Düsseldorf at home on Saturday.
