Weston McKennie to be out 'for a while' after dislocating shoulder in Schalke win

Schalke 04 midfielder Weston McKennie is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a dislocated shoulder today.
Schalke 04 coach David Wagner says Weston McKennie is expected to be out 'for a while' after suffering a dislocated shoulder in Sunday's 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

McKennie was forced off after just 13 minutes of today's game at Veltins-Arena, with Juan Miranda coming on to make his Schalke debut.

"Weston has dislocated his shoulder and is in hospital right now. We don't yet know if he'll need an operation. He will definitely be out for a while," Wagner said after the game, as quoted by the club.

Wagner was pleased to see his players hold on to a 1-0 win despite getting Alexander Nübel sent off after 67 minutes.

"We had to fight against so many things today. It's a special victory. The fans' support was unbelievable," the Schalke coach said.

Schalke sit fourth in the Bundesliga after today's win.
