Alex Nübel handed four-match ban

Schalke 04 captain Alexander Nübel has been suspended for four games.
Schalke 04 goalkeeper Alexander Nübel has been handed a four-match suspension by the German Football Association.

The 23-year-old was shown a straight red card in Schalke's 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday after a dangerous challenge on Mijat Gacinovic.

According to Bild, Nübel has also received a fine of €12,000.

Schalke head of sport Jochen Schneider has told Bild that the punishment has been accepted by the club.

Nübel will miss Schalke's last two games of 2019 against Wolfsburg and SC Freiburg as well as his side's first two games of 2020 against Gladbach and Bayern München.
