Report: Leroy Sané wants to join Bayern in January

It only seems a matter of time before Leroy Sané makes the switch to Bayern München from Manchester City, with the only question being when the transfer will happen.
Leroy Sané is hoping to join Bayern München from Manchester City during the winter transfer window, according to Sport Bild.

Sané, who is under contract until 2021, has turned down a new deal at Etihad Stadium, so it's conceivable that Manchester City will let the winger go in 2020 to cash in on him. The question is if he would be allowed to leave in January.

The Premier League club demanded €150 million for Sané last summer, but Sport Bild believes the winger's asking price has most likely 'dropped significantly' since he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture back in August.

So far, the Bayern bosses have been planning to bring in the German international in the summer.

Sané probably won't be able to make his return from his long-term knee injury until February, and it's doubtful how much he would be able to help the team in the second half of the season following a long injury spell - especially considering he would also need some time to adjust to life at Bayern.

Manchester City paid €50,5 million to sign Sané from Schalke 04 in 2016. Since then, he has gone on to make 134 appearances for the club, racking up 39 goals and 45 assists.
