Mario Götze linked with Hertha move

Borussia Dortmund's Mario Götze is said to have attracted interest from Hertha BSC.
Hertha BSC are looking into the possibility of signing Mario Götze from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sport Bild.

The signing would be possible from a financial point of view, with club investor Lars Windhorst willing to spend big to bring prominent names to Berlin.

Götze is out of contract at the end of the season and could therefore make the switch to the German capital on a free transfer in the summer of 2020.

However, the report states that the 27-year-old is more likely to join a Champions League club if he doesn't reach an agreement on a new deal with BVB.

At first, Hertha will be looking to bring in defensive reinforcements in January and have been linked with Tottenham's Victor Wanyama and Julian Weigl from Dortmund.
