Laszlo Benes backs Mahmoud Dahoud to bounce back

Gladbach's Laszlo Benes has backed former teammate Mahmoud Dahoud to play more often at Borussia Dortmund.
Laszlo Benes admits it's surprising to him that Mahmoud Dahoud isn't playing more at Borussia Dortmund.

Benes, who used to play with Dahoud at Gladbach, believes it's only a matter of time before the 23-year-old will find himself on the pitch more often again.

"I enjoyed the time with 'Mo' and learned a lot from him. I believe he's a very, very good player," Benes said in an interview with Spox and added:

"Dortmund are a strong team, but I'm surprised that 'Mo' plays so little. I think it's only a matter of time before he'll be back on the pitch more often. He's a top player."

Dahoud, 23, has been limited to just eight appearances for Dortmund this season.
