Manuel Neuer won't rule out international retirement after Euro 2020

Manuel Neuer won't guarantee that he will continue his international career beyond Euro 2020.
Manuel Neuer won't rule out that he could call time on his international career after next year's European Championship.

"I'll leave that open, because it depends on my health, fitness and whether I still enjoy myself," the Germany captain said in an interview with Kicker.

The 33-year-old's contract with Bayern runs until 2021, but he's expected to sign a contract extension until 2023. Asked how he sees his situation at Bayern, Neuer said:

"What I've said about the national team generally applies for my career. If I feel good, feel needed and know that I can perform well, I want to play as long as it's fun. I feel good with Bayern and have goals with the team. This is how it should continue for now."

Neuer made his debut for Germany in 2009. He joined Bayern from Schalke in 2011.
