Timo Werner: Bayern and Dortmund remain favorites for the Bundesliga title

RB Leipzig shouldn't be seen as favorites to win the Bundesliga title, says Timo Werner.
Timo Werner has underlined that RB Leipzig don't see themselves as favorites to win the Bundesliga title.

'Die Roten Bullen' sit top of the table at the winter break, but Werner still believes Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund should be considered the main contenders for the title.

"We are happy that we played a strong first half of the season and that we're in a Champions League place at this stage. We have worked hard for this. In the second half of the season, we have to build on what we've done and develop further," Werner said in an interview with Sport Bild and continued:

"We are hungry for more. If we keep up the good work, we can do a lot. We still have a lot of potential, but we don't see ourselves as favorites to win the title. FC Bayern and Dortmund remain so."

RB Leipzig are two points clear of second-placed Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bayern are third with four points less than Leipzig while Dortmund are fourth, seven points behind Werner and his teammates.
