Leverkusen chief wants to keep Charles Aranguiz, 'but nothing has been decided yet'

Bayer Leverkusen are still hopeful of keeping Charles Aranguiz who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Bayer Leverkusen chief Rudi Völler says it's still uncertain if Charles Aranguiz will extend his contract with the club beyond the summer.

'Die Werkself' have expressed interest in extending Aranguiz's contract for a while and remain hopeful that the central midfielder will put pen to paper on a new deal.

"We still hope he'll stay and are optimistic, but nothing has been decided yet," Völler told Kicker.

The 30-year-old, who has played 21 games this season, is set to miss Leverkusen's first Bundesliga game of 2020 against Paderborn next week due to muscle problems.
