VfL Wolfsburg have completed the signing of Marin Pongracic from RB Salzburg, the club have announced.
The centre-back, 22, makes the move to Germany after putting pen to paper on a contract until June 2024.
"The new year couldn’t have started any better for me from a sporting perspective," Pongracic said in a statement.
"I'm looking forward to the new challenge in the German Bundesliga. VfL Wolfsburg are an ambitious club with high expectations, with whom I want to take the next step in my career. Big thanks also to RB Salzburg, where I had an enjoyable and successful time and improved enormously.," he added.
Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schäfer said:
"Our defensive options have increased considerably with the acquisition of Marin. He's quick and good at building play from the back. Despite his young age, he has also gained considerable experience at both domestic and European level during his time at Salzburg."
Pongracic, a former Bayern München academy player, joined RB Salzburg from 1860 München in 2017. He made a total of 56 appearances for the Austrian champions.
