RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche has held talks with Max Hagmayr, the agent of Inter's Valentino Lazaro, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who backs up the story with a photo that shows the parties holding a meeting in Milan.

Speaking in an interview with Sport1, Krösche has confirmed RB Leipzig's interest in Lazaro.

"We've long said we're looking at possible options for the right side. Tino's a candidate," he said.

Lazaro has struggled to nail down a starting berth in Italy following his move from Hertha BSC last summer, and Inter should now be willing to send him out on loan.

According to Kicker, however, a loan deal would only make sense for Leipzig if it includes a purchase option.

The 23-year-old, who can play at right wing and at right-back, has also been linked with Newcastle United.

Lazaro has made 11 appearances for Inter following his €22,4 million move from Hertha BSC in the summer of 2019. His contract runs until 2023.
