Schalke could sign Todibo permanently: 'It's better to have a big clause than none at all'

Schalke 04 could imagine signing Barcelona loanee Jean-Clair Todibo permanently even if he doesn't end up getting a whole lot of playing time this season.
It's conceivable that Schalke 04 will sign Jean-Clair Todibo on a permanent deal at the end of the season, according to Kicker.

The 20-year-old FC Barcelona loanee is understood to have a €25 million purchase option that Schalke might want to take advantage of even if the young centre-back doesn't get to play much this season.

"We see him as one of the most promising young centre-backs in Europe," Schalke 04 head of sport Jochen Schneider said.

"It's better to have a big clause than none at all," he responded when asked about Todibo's reported €25 million purchase option.

According to Kicker, Barcelona could bring back Todibo for €50 million in the future thanks to a clause.

Todibo watched Schalke 04's 2-0 win over Gladbach last week from the bench.
