Lucien Favre: Emre Can could make the squad to face Werder

'It's possible' that Emre Can will be in Dortmund's squad for Tuesday's DFB-Pokal clash with Werder Bremen, says BVB coach Lucien Favre.
Borussia Dortmund coach Lucien Favre says Emre Can could make his debut for the club in Tuesday's DFB-Pokal game against Werder Bremen.

"He trained yesterday. I'll talk to him about how he feels. It's possible that he will be in the squad," Favre told reporters when asked about the midfielder, who made the move to Signal Iduna Park from Juventus shortly before the winter transfer window closed.

But with Can having just played 279 minutes of first-team football this season, Favre is prepared to be patient with the 26-year-old.

"Emre needs time. He hasn't played much for the last year. We'll see how he finds his place in the team," Favre said.

Favre also said he's pleased about the flexibility that Can brings to the team.

"He can play multiple positions. He can play as a centre-back in a three-man line as he has shown in the national team. But he prefers to play in midfield, and we're well aware of that."
