Bayern München and RB Leipzig drew 0-0 in an exciting top-of-the-table clash at Allianz Arena on Sunday thaw saw the guests being particularly wasteful in front of goal after the break.

Bayern were dominating possession in a tight first half that saw few big chances at either end. Most notably, Robert Lewandowski came close to breaking the deadlock with 40 minutes on the clock, but his left-footed effort was deflected out for a corner.

Shortly after the break, Marcel Sabitzer missed a glorious chance for 'Die Roten Bullen' when he blasted a shot high over the bar in a good position.

Timo Werner then nearly took advantage of a mistake from Jerome Boateng as he took the ball past Manuel Neuer, who came out of his goal, but David Alaba made a crucial block to deny RB Leipzig the opener.

Robert Lewandowski looked to have won a penalty for Bayern with 53 minutes played when he was brought down by Dayot Upamecano in the penalty box, but he was ruled offside after a VAR review.

Werner missed the biggest opportunity of the game after 63 minutes when RB Leipzig suddenly found themselves being two versus one against Jerome Boateng. Christopher Nkunku squared the ball across goal to Werner, but he fired wide despite being completely unmarked in a central position in front of goal.

Towards the end of the game, Leon Goretzka could have sent the hosts ahead, but the midfielder was denied by a superb stop from Peter Gulacsi in the Leipzig net.

At the end of the day, it all ended with a draw, which means Bayern stay top of the Bundesliga, one point clear of RB Leipzig.
