Timo Werner: 'I should have scored'
RB Leipzig star Timo Werner believes he should have gotten more out of his glorious chance against Bayern München.
Timo Werner admits he should have got on the scoresheet in RB Leipzig's 0-0 draw with Bayern München at Allianz Arena on Sunday.
The German international had a huge opportunity to make it 1-0 midway through the second half, but blasted his effort wide from inside the penalty area after Christopher Nkunku passed the ball across goal to him.
"I should have scored. Manuel [Neuer] did well to come out of his goal, but in a game like this, you have to put a ball like that into the back of the net in order to win," Werner told Sky after the game.
Bayern's Joshua Kimmich doesn't believe the chance was as big as it has been made out to be, though.
"The chance was not as easy as it looks for an amateur fan. The ball wasn't played totally flat, and he had to shoot directly, otherwise David Alaba or Manuel Neuer would have come for it. It looks easier than it was," Kimmich told Bild.
