Jürgen Klinsmann took his players by surprise when he told them about his decision to step down as Hertha BSC coach.
It seems none of the players knew what was coming when the 55-year-old informed them of his decision which was made public on Tuesday.
"This is a big shock for us. Obviously there were some problems in the background. Perhaps private reasons also play a role. I'm curious to see how it's going to continue now," Dedrick Boyata told Bild.
"We thought it was just a team meeting. All of a sudden he told us that he was resigning. For me personally, that's a total shame," said Marko Grujic.
Javairo Dilrosun is determined to show a reaction with a win against Paderborn on Saturday.
"It's a great loss for us. I really enjoyed working with him. He's a great personality. Now, of course, the club are in chaos. We absolutely have to win on Saturday to quiet down things a bit," the winger told Bild.
