Schalke 04 are adamant to hold on to their best players beyond the summer, says the club's head of sport, Jochen Schneider.

Alex Nübel will be leaving Veltins-Arena to join Bayern München on a free transfer in the summer, but 'The Royal Blues' have no plans of letting any other important players go at the end of the season.

"The top performers will not be allowed to leave. We want to keep the team together and improve it," Schneider said in an interview with Sport Bild.

This means that players such as Suat Serdar, Ozan Kabak and Amine Harit will probably stay for at least one more season.

According to reports, there's no exit clause in Suat Serdar's contract which runs until 2022.

Harit is said to have a €60 million clause in his contract, which expires in 2024, but it shouldn't take effect until 2021 at the earliest.

Kabak, who is also under contract until 2024, is understood to have a €45 million release clause which will be become active in 2021 as well.
