Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt wary of relegation threat after another defeat

Werder Bremen coach Florian Kohfeldt says his team need to pick up points in the weeks to come to have a chance of avoiding relegation.
Werder Bremen must pick up points in the next few weeks to maintain a chance of staying in the Bundesliga, says the club's coach, Florian Kohfeldt.

The pressure is mounting on Kohfeldt's 17th-placed side who suffered their fifth successive Bundesliga defeat as they lost 0-2 to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

"We now have very decisive weeks ahead of us with games against Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha, in which we have to get points in order to have a realistic chance of staying in the league. There are no excuses," the Werder coach told Deichstube after the game and added:

"It's not over yet. Nobody here will give up in any way."

Werder sporting director Frank Baumann once again underlined that Kohfeldt's position is not under threat despite the club's poor form.

"We'll discuss with the coach how we can handle the situation, but we're not discussing him," Baumann said.
