Although Baumann claims that Werder haven't been in concrete talks with any clubs about the highly-rated winger yet, he knows that it will be hard to hold on to him.
"No decision has been made yet, and we haven't negotiated with any clubs. But it's clear that players who have proven something on the pitch will want to take the next step at some point. We have to be realistic about that," Baumann told Deichstube.
During the first half of the season, Werder were in talks to extend Rashica's contract beyond 2022. But as 17th-placed Werder's struggles in the Bundesliga have increased over the course of the season, a contract extension is now off the table.
"We haven't sat down together during this phase. At some point, the sporting situation didn't help us either. If we had a different position in the table, things might have been different," Baumann said.
Rashica has made 22 appearances this season, racking up 10 goals and four assists.
